weblogs and Libraries

librarians have recently started paying attention to weblogs as information sources. it seems that some master students in Iran have chosen this topic for their dissertation. I read a review of a new book on this topic in the last issue of Information World Review. the book is "Weblogs and Libraries" by Laurel A Clyde (Chandor Publishing). there are some good information on the author's website.

2005: international year of physics

2005 is called world year of physics to inspire a new generation of physicists. Image from BBCthe statistics shows that in some develeoped countries like USA and UK, less students were attracted to science and the number of indigenous scientists is decreasing. as a matter of fact at the moment a considerable part of research in pure science in USA is being done by students and researcher from Asian countires. It is hoped that nomination of 2005 as physics year brings excitement of physics to the public. . There are to be a range of physics-related activities in UK. the picture which is an inspiration of Einstein theory is from an exhibition in science museum.
